Bubo ("the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we ("Developer") collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the App. It also outlines your choices regarding your information and how you can contact us if you have questions.
By using the App, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not consent, please do not use the App.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
Given that Bubo does not require account registration, we do NOT collect the following types of personal information:
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other contact details.
- Date of birth, gender, or demographic information.
- Location data (unless you explicitly grant camera access, which is used only for real-time pose guidance, not for location tracking).
- Social media account information or third-party login data.
- Payment information (all in-app purchases are processed through Apple’s App Store, which handles payment data in accordance with Apple’s Privacy Policy).
3. Information We May Collect
We collect limited information to provide, improve, and secure the App. This information falls into two categories:
3.1 Device & Usage Information
We may collect non-personal information about your device and how you use the App, including:
- Device details: iOS version, device model (e.g., iPhone 15), and device identifier (for troubleshooting and compatibility purposes only).
- Usage data: Features you use (e.g., pose library access, real-time overlay), frequency of use, time spent on the App, and poses you view or select.
- Technical data: App crash reports, error logs, and performance data (to fix bugs and improve stability).
This information is aggregated and anonymized, meaning it cannot be linked to you as an individual.
3.2 Camera & Photo Library Access
The App requires access to your device’s camera to provide real-time pose guidance (via overlay). Camera access is used only during active App use to display pose overlays and help you align your position—we do not store or transmit camera feed data to our servers.
The App also requests access to your device’s photo library to enable the "auto-save" feature (saving photos you capture using the App to your library). We do not access, store, or share photos from your library unless you explicitly use the auto-save feature (and even then, photos remain on your device).
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide App features: Camera access enables real-time pose guidance, and photo library access enables auto-save functionality.
- To improve the App: Usage and device data help us identify popular features, fix bugs, and develop new content (e.g., adding poses based on user interest).
- To ensure security: Error logs and crash reports help us address technical issues and protect the App from disruptions.
- To personalize your experience: Anonymized usage data may be used to recommend poses or features that align with your preferences (e.g., suggesting action poses if you frequently use that category).
5. Information Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Third-party service providers: We may share anonymized device or usage data with trusted service providers who assist us in operating the App (e.g., cloud hosting for app updates, analytics tools for usage tracking). These providers are contractually required to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law (e.g., to comply with a court order or government request) or to protect our rights, safety, or the safety of others.
6. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we collect from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. These measures include:

- Limiting access to data to authorized team members only (for troubleshooting and development).
- Rellying on Apple’s security protocols for in-app purchases and device-level permissions.
Please note that no data transmission or storage method is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Choices & Controls
You have control over how information is collected and used through the App:
- Permission settings: You can enable or disable camera and photo library access at any time through your device’s settings (Settings > Bubo > Privacy).
- Uninstall the App: If you no longer use the App, uninstalling it will stop all data collection related to the App.
- Request information: You may contact us to request details about the information we have collected (if any) related to your device.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App or applicable laws. Updated policies will be posted in the App (under "Settings > Legal > Privacy Policy") and will take effect [14] days after posting. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
